Accounting - Insurance Agency - Applied Epic - AMS360

This is a bookkeeping position in the leading firm specializing in outsourced accounting for Insurance Agencies. The candidate must be detail oriented, enjoy performing data entry tasks accurately and adhering to deadlines; and have experience working in an insurance agency. Experience with AMS360 or Applied EPIC is required (software for independent insurance agencies, not the software for medical practices.) Essential Job Functions: 1. Accounts Payable - Pays invoices for operating expenses, reconciles & records credit card transactions timely 2. Insurance Company Payables – Reconciles & pays invoices/statements for agency bill insurance transactions timely 3. Accounts Receivable - Records deposits of commission and customer payments timely 4. Payroll – Records journal entries timely 5. Assists clients with any accounting related questions, responding within 24 hours 6. Reviews and reconciles general ledger balances to subsidiary ledger detail on a daily, weekly or monthly basis as applicable 7. Prepares draft financial statements monthly for Accountant review and responds to review questions within 24 hours 8. Invoices direct bill commission in a backup capacity to the direct bill specialist Summary As a Bookkeeper to IAAB clients, you will be integral to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with standards. Reporting to a Manager, your core responsibilities will include accounts payable and receivable, general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, and month end.
