Underwriter (Non-QM West Coast)

Description: • Analyze loan applications and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to Non-QM guidelines. • Evaluate borrower creditworthiness and the viability of loan transactions, assessing factors such as income, assets, and property valuations. • Collaborate with loan officers, account managers, and other internal teams to resolve discrepancies and provide clear underwriting decisions. • Prepare detailed underwriting summaries and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders. • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies throughout the underwriting process. • Stay informed about industry trends, changes in regulations, and emerging Non-QM products. • Assist in developing and refining underwriting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness. • Provide exceptional customer service and support to borrowers, lenders, and other partners. Requirements: • PST candidates preferred. • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred. • Minimum of 3 years of underwriting experience, with a strong focus on Non-QM loans. • Comprehensive knowledge of mortgage lending regulations and compliance requirements. • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills. • Proficient in MLM (Meridian Link) and Microsoft Office Suite. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
