About the position Responsibilities • Organize documentation of J.A.G. Meetings • Schedule J.A.G. Meetings (time, date, personnel) • Organize E.A.P. (tutors, schedule, supervisor/teacher designations, etc.) • Supervise building, assist with student behaviors, and provide emotional support when Principal is not available (meetings, sick, etc.) • Coordinate and schedule volunteer opportunities for parents and guardians • Organize a collection of data to keep profile of all students' current level • Lead cultural meetings or circles for staff and students • Conduct professional development for staff on ways to better serve students who have experienced trauma & poverty • Conduct family engagement sessions to build a bridge between school and home life (I.E. good habits for studying, learning programs that can be implemented at home, leading P.D. for parents on how to better serve their students, etc.) • Collaborate in S.S.T. Meetings • Provide intake for therapy and/or connect families to therapeutic services • Collaborate with the Principal, Dean of Student Success, and the Administrative Assistant to plan events and elevate school culture • Collaborate with the Principal and the Administrative Assistant to submit and file state reports • Collaborate with the Principal and the Administrative Assistant to form school calendar • Enforce the code of conduct • Assist in the hiring of teacher candidates • Provide emotional and behavioral support for students as incidents arise • Perform general duties of school counselor including: guidance/SEL lessons, working 1-on-1 with students, holding small group sessions, and providing emotional support for struggling students • Other duties as assigned Requirements • Preferred Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, Counseling, or Social Work • Minimum of bachelor's degree in social work/counseling • Supporting and upholding the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school • Supporting and adhering to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese • Preparing lesson plans consistent with Diocesan policy and our school mission • A demonstrated philosophy that all students can and will learn • Excellent attendance record • Excellent communication skills oral and written • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Best Instructional Practices • Positive interpersonal skills • Professional verification of successful classroom teacher performance and/or student teaching experience • Evidence of the willingness and the ability to comply with the standards for ethical and professional performance established by the State Board of Education • Skills pertinent to foster positive human relationships and the ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents and the community • Willingness and demonstrated abilities conducive to a continuous quest for quality education • Attending and participating in Faculty Meetings, Diocesan Meetings, Professional Development Days, Faculty Committees, etc. • Gathering Qualitative and Quantitative data • Documenting, strategizing, and collecting data for student interventions • Forming and revising schedules involving students and/or staff Apply tot his job
