About the position As a Payroll Analyst at Starbucks, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that over 250,000 partners in the U.S. and Canada are paid accurately and on time. This position involves preparing special payroll processes, providing training, supporting technology enhancements, and collaborating on cross-functional projects. You will also be responsible for identifying process improvements and maintaining compliance with state and provincial laws. Responsibilities • Prepare paychecks requiring special processing, including bonus payouts and corrections of hours. , • Provide cross-functional support to PRO projects and initiatives, including defining business requirements and writing test scripts. , • Respond to and resolve incoming inquiries from the call tracking system in a timely manner. , • Monitor and analyze payroll areas consistently to anticipate potential issues and recommend resolutions. , • Report payroll processing and system issues as appropriate. , • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements. , • Lead cross-functional teams in resolving process concerns and developing new processes. , • Maintain process documentation and validate policies against laws. , • Participate in periodic internal auditing of key responsibilities. , • Perform payroll reconciliation for assigned cycles. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in a related field. , • Mid-level experience in payroll processing. , • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Oracle. , • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. , • Foundational understanding of payroll processes, including garnishments and bonus payments. , • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Nice-to-haves • Experience with multi-state payroll processing. , • Basic skills in payroll systems, specifically SAP. , • Emerging analytical and technical skills with attention to detail.
