Farm Hand Old Cove Oyster Company is a well-known oyster farm in the U.S., OCOC is dedicated to producing the highest quality oysters possible. The farm is the fundamental part of our business and we are ever-evolving our techniques to maximize production capabilities. OCOC is eager to have employees who are are happy to take on the challenge of developing the farm to its fullest potential. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience within the aquaculture field. We are looking for 2-3 people to fill slots for year round help on the farm. This position is scheduled Monday to Friday, 30 to 40 hours a week. For candidates with relevant experience, pay rate is negotiable. ROLES & TASKS: Seed work/grading seed Power washing gear Harvest and sort oysters Tide work REQUIREMENTS: Able to lift at least 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day Able to bend down, stand, kneel for long periods of time Work in all conditions, heat/cold/rain/wind Comfortable working on the water and in boats; ability to swim Flexibility of scheduling, including long days early mornings and weekend work Have an upbeat personality and positive attitude Able to do repetitive work well and efficiently Drivers license STRONG PREFERENCE: Oyster farming experience Ability to operate a boat and drive a trailer.
