About the position The Financial Analyst will provide financial and analytical support to Senior Financial Management, Group Logistics Managers, and Logistics Managers. This role involves various essential functions including the analysis of unbilled items for license and sales tax prepaid items over customer contract amounts, processing accounts payable for all licensing needs, and reconciling and interpreting business functions of all licenses prepaid fees. The analyst will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, acting as a liaison with Ryder's Shared Services Center, and assisting upper management with special projects related to accounting and regulatory compliance. Additionally, the role includes leading process improvement initiatives and performing month-end closing activities. Responsibilities • Analyze unbilled items for license and sales tax prepaid items over customer contract amount. • Process accounts payable for all licensing processing as needed. • Reconcile, review, and interpret business functions of all licenses prepaid fees. • Analyze setup of amortization of prepaid fees to ensure accuracy. • Provide financial training to Business Unit staff. • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and accurate projection of financials. • Act as Licensing Team liaison with Ryder's Shared Services Center and Corporate Accounting group. • Make appropriate accounting decisions on projects and system enhancements. • Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley controls and assist with quarterly audits. • Assist upper management with special projects and analysis. • Lead process improvement initiatives. • Perform month-end closing activities including journal entries and general ledger research. • Work closely with Director of Licensing Compliance to identify revenue/cost/productivity improvements. • Conduct financial analysis and reporting including performance analysis and cost analysis. • Reconcile over/under vehicle cap run and sales tax accruals. Requirements • Bachelor's degree required in business administration, finance, accounting or related field. • Four (4) years or more in Finance, Accounting or Operations required.
