Position Summary: Bionova is seeking a motivated and innovative Facilities and Engineering Technician to serve in the Facilities and Engineering (F&E) department. As part of the F&E group, you will have opportunities to work on and take ownership of a wide range of facility and utility systems. This includes asset lifecycle workflow implementation, troubleshooting and investigations, and maintenance and calibration, scheduling, executing unplanned corrective maintenance, and coordination with vendors.. Bionova is currently expanding its capabilities from a CDO to a CDMO through construction of a GMP manufacturing facility and QC testing laboratory. As part of the F&E team, you will drive cross-functional decisions and influence decisions of user teams as we grow the organization and expand capabilities to meet project goals that ultimately improve patient outcomes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: System operator for specific facilities and utilities equipment including monitoring and maintaining critical building systems, including Building management system, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection. Troubleshoot and support repair of facility and process systems. Operate, maintain and implement controls for facilities equipment Sustains equipment operational state after construction. Changes. Executes (e.g. continuous improvement) to facilities, utilities and equipment under QA oversight (GMP compliance). Follows GxP principles in troubleshooting equipment issues and ensures equipment is satisfying user (operations) requirements Act as point of contact between company and contractors to maintain a state of operation and compliance for all facility, utility and equipment systems Technical interface with staff using facilities and utility equipment Support establishing of procedures and processes for operation of facilities and interfaces with utilities and automation systems (BMS, EMS, Historian, CMMS, etc.) Executes asset management and acts as system technician of facilities systems (BMS, Fire, etc.). Supports definition of preventive maintenance and calibration for new assets Safely troubleshoots and repairs mechanical and electronic process equipment and technologies used throughout a cGMP biopharmaceutical facility Perform both unscheduled corrective and scheduled preventive maintenance on production, facility, and utility systems in a GMP environment (HVAC, PW, Autoclave, CDA, bioreactors, purification skids) Supports setup and operation of computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), a GMP validated system) Supports coordination of calibration vendor daily scheduling Assist in maintaining calibration and maintenance process as a compliant quality system Creation of documented GMP maintenance procedures Non-GMP maintenance (Lights, office temperature, doors, HVAC, hard services contracts, etc.) Management of vendors to perform necessary maintenances on specific equipment that cannot be maintained by internal resources. Oversee and accept paperwork created by vendors. Maintain current state of training with cGMP SOPs Provide after-hours on-call support (only when) necessary Execute, document, and close work orders in a compliant and complete manner Order parts and components for jobs as needed Manage inventory of spare parts in maintenance shop Upkeep and stocking of maintenance shop as consistently ready to perform cGMP maintenance on pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment Support Supply Chain and Shipping & Receiving departments in movement of goods Other activities and duties as required or assigned. Working Conditions: This position requires work in office, manufacturing, warehouse, and lab settings. The role requires walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. The employee may occasionally lift and or move up to 40 pounds independently. Qualifications: Associate of the Arts degree required, Bachelors of Science degree in engineering or related science discipline preferred. Minimum of 5 years experience performing duties of Facilities technician or engineer, or stationary engineer, for process, utilities, or facilities equipment. Experience in GMP manufacturing environment preferred. Excellent English verbal and written communication skills Comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative small-company environment, working with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities. Compensation Range: The base compensation range for this role is between $32 and $42 an hour. However, the actual pay rate may vary depending on your experience and qualifications.
